FourSeasons Market May 1st

The day was finally here. I was a nervous wreck all week. I worried about so much stuff...I worried there wasn't going to be enough bows; I worried nothing would sell; I worried about the weather. But in the end, it all worked out. It wasn't a sell out but I do feel like it was a success because I DID IT!

Just one comment...

In the beginning of practicing my hairbows, I made one little comment to my husband..."I have always wanted to make something and sell it in a craft show.". That one little comment was all it took and he got busy. First, he bought me an
e-book with detailed instructions on how to make hairbows. Then he became my quality control consultant and by that I mean, I would make the bow and bring them out to him to show him and he always was honest. : ) Then he began to make weekly purchases of alligator clips without me even having to ask. He even would take a basket of bows to work with him and sell them to the ladies. My first "bow show" was at my school, VRE. It was a HUGE success and from that point on, I have been a busy little bee...making bows and neglecting housework. :) but he didn't complain, he just picked up the slack. Then he did the best thing EVER...he made the second guest room into a craft room for me, complete with a big table and ribbon holders that he made himself! Then I made another comment, "I want to set up at FourSeasons market.". Once again, he showed me how amazing it is to be loved by him. He made the displays and placed all the orders for a canopy, flowers, headbands, ribbon, and everything imaginable from vistaprint. He woke up at 5:30 AM on May 1st and spent the entire day with me at my first craft show. He is the world's greatest husband!

How Ladybug Cottage Began...

Well some have wondered why I would start making hair bows and not have a little girl of my own. I may not have a little girl (yet) but I have lots of friends with little girls and 2 very special nieces. Right before Christmas break, my friend Stephanie and I started talking hairbows because her little Kenzy Koo was due within weeks...I started researching and started practicing. The first bows that I did were horrible compared to how they look now but I kept trying and FINALLY I got the hang of it! It helped that my sweet husband, brad, bought me a book on how to make a bow. lol!
So that is basically how I got started...
